NEW FASHION TREND
FOR THE NEW ECONOMY: Coconut Creek, Fla. – (Aug 24, 2009) – Gone are the days when women could wear their wedding dresses or cocktail attire just once. Sara Mique fashion house, which has been creating unique, elegant eveningwear for nearly 30 years, offers one of the latest fashion trends for today’s economy – dyeing wedding dresses and eveningwear various colors so they can be worn multiple times. The previously New York City-based Sara Mique fashion house recently relocated to Coconut Creek Fla., where its design and production facility and chic Sara Mique retail showroom are situated on the same site. Clients work with textile artists to pick their new color of choice for their white- or light-hued Sara Mique garments. The artists then hand-dye the garments at the design and production facility. The newly-dyed pieces are ready to be picked up or shipped within one week. “These beautiful garments do not have to be put in a box and left in the attic for years, donated to charity, or resold,” said Sara Mique Founder/Owner Joan Lamonica. “Many financially savvy women today are opting to wear their wedding gowns and cocktail attire again and again, just in different colors.” Sara Mique creates unique, hand-made garments including non-traditional wedding dresses, special occasion dresses for destination weddings, black tie or cocktail party dresses, mother-of-the-bride dresses, separates, and more in a variety of sizes (including plus sizes). Cut from only the highest quality unique laces, silks, velvets and embroideries, each Sara Mique piece is custom-made; hand-sewn by an expert seamstress and individually hand-dyed by a textile artist directly behind the retail showroom. There are no buttons or zippers on Sara Mique clothing, creating the comfortable, body skimming fit of a leotard. Sara Mique also recently introduced the “Florida Casual Collection,” including interesting and fun “dinner tops” that clients can wear with pants and jeans, or with the new Sara Mique skirt collection. Lamonica began the Sara Mique enterprise nearly three decades ago after she designed a unique, beautiful, fun, funky, feminine, romantic and “slightly sexy” dress for herself during a trip to Rio de Janeiro. She soon after created some pieces for the legendary Fifth Avenue boutique Henri Bendel, and the rest is fashion history. The Sara Mique retail showroom and design and production facility is located at 4800 W. Hillsboro Blvd, Coconut Creek, Fla., 33073. Hours of operation are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday with weekend hours by appointment. For more information, visit www.saramique.com or call 800-338-6366 or (954) 531-6800.
